Offered here is a classic Technics SL-1950 automatic direct-drive turntable, combining Technics’ highly regarded direct-drive engineering with convenient automatic operation and multi-play capability.
This example has been tested and is working properly, including its automatic functions. The controls and switches have been cleaned with DeoxIT, the automatic mechanism has been cleaned and relubricated, and a new set of feet has been installed to improve stability and isolation.
Speed operation is stable, the tonearm operates smoothly, and the automatic start and return functions work as expected.
The SL-1950 was also designed to support multi-record playback using the appropriate changer spindle. The multi-play/changer spindle is NOT included with this turntable, so it is currently being sold for standard single-record operation. A compatible multi-play spindle would need to be obtained separately to use the record-changing feature.

Important Multi-Play Note
The SL-1950 is capable of multi-record automatic playback when equipped with the appropriate Technics multi-play spindle. That spindle is not included in this sale. The turntable operates normally as a single-record automatic turntable with the standard spindle.
