The QD-5050 was designed for enthusiasts who wanted both conventional stereo recording and discrete 4-channel tape playback. It provides 2-channel stereo recording and playback along with 4-channel playback capability, making it an excellent companion to a vintage quadraphonic Sansui system.
This example is in outstanding cosmetic condition and presents exceptionally well for its age.
The deck has been tested for both recording and playback. Two-channel recording has been tested and is working, and the deck has also been tested for 4-channel playback. Controls and switches have been cleaned with DeoxIT to improve smooth and reliable operation. The counter belt will need to be replaced.

Quadraphonic Capability
The QD-5050 is particularly interesting for collectors building a period-correct quadraphonic system.
